Loads of times! It happens everywhere. People often get passed over for promotion because of some minor quality the management are looking for which will quickly become an annoyance. Such as "Agressive, pro-active person," (which apparently i'm not) will quickly become an "Irritating insubordinate person." If they hire that person based solely on that trait.
It's a mistake repeated since the beginning of time, and one which will probably contine. |
