Default Energy Efficiency with Office Equipment

You can be energy efficient in the office by following a few tips. You can:
- blacken your computer desktop and preferences with web pages
- turn off and unplug whenever possible any equipment when not in use. Did you know that even if a piece of equipment is turned off, it will still use power to show the time?
- use a power bar for your office equipment

These are all good ideas. We use all of them at my office. It really works and more places should do it.

If a computer is turned off but plugged in, it keeps a residual current inside for a quick start. They all have BIOS batteries to keep time though, these don't take power from the mains.
