Default If Family Emergency

How is your boss about a family emergency. Let's say your spouse needed to go to the hospital for some reason, would they let you leave without a problem?

My boss is quite understanding. In fact, I am always in emergency situation since my husband and I are both working and we don't have helpers at home. That's what I love most about my job. Aside from I have the freedom and time to improve on myself, I got a good paying job and a manager who believes in quality work over quantity.

Most bosses shouldn't have an extreme problem with this, most have families as well and know that family life oftentimes encroaches on worktime. Just so long as 'family emergencies' aren't a weekly thing.

My boss lost a sister to cancer, so she is extremely understanding about medical emergencies involving one's family and friends. She's compassionate anyway, and going through what she did really drove home to her how important it is for people to support each other in times of crisis.

I've been able to quickly leave and take care of my wife, sometimes take a day off to look after her.
However, one of the former employees here won the prize: when he took compassionate leave because his rabbit died.

This is one of those cases where I wouldn't care if the boss had an issue with it. If it is an emergency, I let them know and I leave to take care of things.

You know I really don't care about my boss and anything that he may not approve of when it comes to my family. When it comes to my family, they are number one at all times. so my boss doesn't have any other choice but to accept family emergency.

Well, I am a stay at home mom and before when I worked, I could care less what my boss thought. No job is worth not being there when there is a family emergency. I have actually quit a job before because the boss had an issue with me taking off to take my son to the doctor.

Despicable. the place where my wife works, an employee's boyfriend phoned in because she had collapsed unconcious and was in hospital having X-rays. The manager said that it was their policy that the employee be the one to phone in. Apparently he missed that she was unconcious. Anyway, when she phoned from the hospital he said he was too busy to take the call.

This is the job where you have to say, "See Ya!" That kind of uncompassionate and hostile attitude is not a place I would even stay working at.
