This reminds of "Don't tell mom the babysitter's dead." It also has a hellish female boss, although she turns out to be a good egg in the end. A ridiculous promotion goes to an high school student (Christina Applegate,) and of course, she turns the companies fate around. SURE. But it's a good movie, too. |

Mine is a real oldie - Desk Set, with Katherine Hepburn and Spencer Tracey, from 1957. The premise is about the introduction of an electronic brain (mainframe computer) into the department ran by Hepburn. Tracey was the guy who designed the computer and was overseeing the installation. Gig Young was the executive who had been wooing Hepburn for several years, but began to worry when he saw sparks between Tracey and Hepburn. The movie is a lot of fun and has a great cast. If you get a chance to see this one, pop a bowl of popcorn and give it a shot.
