Default Competitions?

Anyone here have a kind of unspoken competition with their colleagues? Could be anything, and they often get out of hand with amusing results.

For example, we had a bet where one person would be dared (usually on a rota) to fit a certain word 5 times into a leader meeting. It passes the time Once my boss successfully placed the word "spank" 5 times into his presentation of his new plan. It was quite impressive!

Well unspoken competition is quite broad, some people are simply competitive by nature, they aim at any colleagues without really any reasons.

But no, I feel secure enough

*laugh* I'd love to see how the word "spank" was used that many times!!
I would say there is unspoken competition in my workplace. Everyone wants to be the one to shine, and the one to stand out. I don't think there is anything concrete, just little things that each person does to get ahead.

LOL I used to work with a guy that did his best to get me fired. It never worked.

Flash forward five years. I am with another company and he calls to see if we have any openings. It felt quite sweet.

Ha, that's karma for ya! The only "competition" was have involves something along the line of rubber band wars.

You can sent up to 3 (or maybe even 4) rubber bands on your hand for individual firing I've managed a rapid fire attack with them before!

And I think the word spank was slipped in between saying "brand spanking new" and "using the carrot on a stick method of reward or spank"

I was never competitive in the workplace, because I was the best!

Seriously, no matter what I do - I do it right.

Really!

It then must be really really hard to pass through the office's door frame with that big of a head

We did stick hard drive magnets to the ceiling at strategic points and throw paperclips at them, the one with the most paperclips stuck there wins!
