Describe the phone your grandparents used to have

As a kid I remember my grandparents having an old heavy black corded phone with the circular dial for dialing numbers. You'd have to wait for each number to be dialed. I wish we still had it in the family. Did anyone else use an old phone like this as a kid?

I've seen them. I the youngest of older parents who were themselves the youngest of older parents. My oldest grandfather was born in 1887! To quote them "Don't want one of them contraptions. Just a passing fancy anyhow".
