Default bluetooth or WiFi

Bluetooth or WiFi? What are the major differences? Why would I want one over the other?

Actually you want both. WiFi is a wireless connection to internet services and bluetooth is wireless connection between units.

For example, my bluetooth phone can communicate with the bluetooth on my laptop and pick up a music file I downloaded from the internet.

Interesting. I've got two different computers, one in the basement and one in the living room. I'd love to see the basement files on my living room computer. Would I want bluetooth, a network, or both?

Really what you're looking for in this case would be a network. Bluetooth wouldn't help in this situation.

I'd go with a wireless network. Bluetooth wouldn't help with this and a wired network would be more trouble than its worth.

I just read that one problem with the wireless network is that it is slower than the wired network. Just something to think about.

Possible. I personally don't bother with a home wireless network as all of our PCs are desktops. When I get a laptop, sure.

I don't know where you are Duck, but where I am my wireless is just as fast as my wired connection ever was. Maybe you have some glitch oyu need to look into.
