Does Vontage use VoIP

Someone correct me here, I had a thought that Vontage uses VoIP technology, is that right?

That's what I thought as well. If that isn't how it works, someone clue us in. I don't use it but I have considered it.

I thought, as you do, that this was what it was for. I haven't heard anything to the contrary.

Yes, vonage uses voip technology. Sometimes people get confused because Skype also uses voip technology but they are completely different companies offering very different means of making a phone call. Using Vonage is very similar to using a regular phone company, Skype is not...so sometimes people forget that Vonage is voip.

Personally, I'm not a big fan of either service. The clarity is iffy, the service even more so.
