Default Lexmark

I was wondering, is Lexmark is decent brand for printers? Walmart is having a Lexmark All-in-One model on sale for $30 on Black Friday, and I was curious as to whether this would be a good deal to pick up on.

Sorry about the post not showing at first - unfortunately got caught up in the anti-spam traps!

Heh, was it caught because of the frequent use of a brand, or something else entirely?

Ha, that's okay. I was just really confused as to why it wasn't showing up! Ah well. I ended up not even venturing out on Black Friday, which was probably a good move

Seems like your anti-spam traps are pretty good, then! Hehe.

Hmm how are you linking your post to "your anti-spam are pretty good" does that mean you admit your post was spam?

Yeah, I think Lexmark should be a good deal. While I checked up with my dealer about this bran he said there is a good demand of Lexmark printers. But I am yet to meet any user who can give the correct scenario.

Well I can't say that I would ever own a Lexmark printer. Coming from the the sales and IT side of technology I have seen tons of Lexmarks get returned. I also think they have some seriously high prices on their cartridges. I don't mind their laserjets but would never own an inkjet or AIO printer. Just my .02 cents.

I know this is an older thread, but I had to add that I had a Lexmark. It was a good deal, and I thought I was picking a cheap common one. Turned out the ink was a pain to get. I hated that printer.

Hi All,

Vicki has hit the nail on the head, so to speak.

Whilst the underlying technology of Lexmark printers is decent, they are not a high end machine by any means, it is the availability and price of the replacement cartridges where the real cost of the printer becomes evident.

There are many decent offerings out there and which one is right will depend on what you want to do with it. If you intend to print digital pictures on glossy photo stock, you will want to spend the extra money for a good Ink or Laserjet with Color.. something like:
http://www.blackcatelectronics.com/s...530-p-333.html

for instance.

I think that the choice of printer is quite dependent upon what role you want it to play in your setup though there are consistently quality products from some vendors like Canon and HP.

Regards,

Jason
