Anyone else see Dell is recalling over 4.1 million batteries from the last 3 years? I just bought a Dell a few months ago and am not sure if my battery is included, but 4.1 million has to cover most of their laptop units in the last few years, one would assume.

Interesting enough the battery recall is sony's fault. Apparently Sony makes the batteries for Dell. They say it may cost Sony $200-$400 million dollars. Since they plan on making $860 million dollars in profit this year, though, it is not the end of the world.
Very disturbing. |

I'm sure that many people in Dell's office as well as Sony's are getting "rid" of people who cost them this recall. Sony probably looked at how the problem got past the QA and Dell's must also be looking at how those said parts were accepted by their internal QA.
