In the age of the Internet, where almost all offices are connected, there is no time for knitting or anything else, because therell always be something to do online that's at the tip of your finger, but the problem is there isnt enough time in the day because of the workload in most work places.

I used to play snooker and minesweeper at office when I was working in a cargo company. There was no internet facility. Now I am playing internet checker. These are my hobbies. I think its not bad to bring hobbies to office if you have free time.

Where do you get the free time to do hobbies? I'll admit that I'll participate in a game of solitaire or such on the computer, but then it's right back to work again. It seems that these days, there is always something to do and not enough time to do it all.
I can't imagine bringing knitting. Seems it would be too easy to get caught! |

Other than keeping some CD's here to listen to when I need something soothing in the background while I work on a proposal or some such brain teaser, my hobbies stay at home. Not that I think there is anything wrong with bringing your hobby to work and enjoying it on breaks or lunch hours - just my preference not to.

We made a chess board out of a few sheets of A4 once, had a tournament and everything. I also bring books into work frequently, and I have a test rig machine with a few untraceable games installed
![]() I happen to know that my manager has one of those ping-pong bats with a ball on a string in his desk drawer. |
