Usually someone can either be your manager, or your friend, but not both. They'll find themselves in the awkward position of knowing stuff that they shouldn't from both sides, and not knowing whether to act on it or not. Eventually they'll have to choose sides, as authority can't be maintained if they act as if there is no chain of command or structure.
Its one of those things that makes me wonder if I really want to be in that position. |

That is one thing you will never ever find me doing and that is kissing ass to keep on the right side of managers. I only say "yes" if they're banging on about a job just to shut them up. The only good manager is a quiet one that stays out of the way in their office and only pop out when it is time to go home

I got a supervisor that lets me do his job and never even bother to check whether I've done the job or not. Afterall, its his job and he should check on it. Just the other day, I went home earlier than he did. The next day, I noticed he did not do again his job and let me do it. I am in the brink of reporting him to our manager.
