Unlike other objects, TVs seem to be much better coming from the well known brand; I do like Sony and Samsung in that matter.

Personally, I like to trust on brand where I can - but there are some really quality products among the less well known brands.

Everyone's heard of the big multimationals, but there are plenty of decent national manufacturers, from Acer to Bel, who can push out a really good TFT monitor.

I like both Sony and Panasonic, although I'm not in a rush to buy a plasma TV. Even from a trusted company, the technology isn't well-developed yet. I'm waiting.

Samsung. I have several friends who have one and have always been impressed using them. All of their sizes are impressive and they're realtively affordable.
