Default Supervisor from the otherside

My supervisor was a stange lady. She dressed like a hooker, no one liked her, and she loathed anyone who didnt call her on every little detail. You literally were not alowed to think for yourself. She stayed in teh offie. Needless to say even managers of Kmarts dislike her and often have hid from her.
She just recenetly had 1/3 of her team quit.
I also found out that she wasnt giving me full drive time.
I ams o glad I quit, but I wish someone woudl investigate her.

Default From my experience

From my experience, employees, out of the blue start taking a like or dislike of a supervisor who is a poor soul like this lady, whose dressing style is getting on everyone’s nerve, when it shouldn’t because everyone is there to do a job. If she isn’t strict with the employees she knows the job will suffer, so she has to be strict, but her style of dressing, looks, etc shouldn’t go in the way, although anyone in a position of authority should be a good role model, but the truth of the matter is not many people like it to be where they are. That might be why she doesn’t like to dress too formally and she has to make a living or it might be her way of saying, okay guys I’m not too fussy and if you do your job I'm off your neck, else I’m all over you.

I started my servivce as an assistant and got elevated to the position of a supevisor, however my nature of duties remined the same....! But I was commented by my juniors as well as by seniors through out my sevice period...! That was my satisfaction. Now I am retired....!

Default she wasnt just hard noone liked her not even her superiors

I think wit this supervisor, the problem laid in her own personality. Store managers didnt like her, her own supervisors doont een like her, and whats even more embarassing is the companies that she has to dealw ith dont like her. Its not just her appearance, its her lack of territory skills, her inability to work side by side with another, her inability to compromise and with all that, she is just not a person who shoudl be in this area.

ont get ne wrong,, she is great at whats he can do. Its just that wehnn you are dealing with field versus her working n an office and being away from the public her expectations of what has to be done is too fictional.

Quite impressed she's still in a managerial role.

Everyone has their own unique personality and style and many times, it doesn't work well with others at work.

Been there, seen that, many times with very competant supervisors. I had one once, who was excellent at her job, a real wiz - but she had no people skills.

Everyone hated her.

That's the problem with many supervisors...they may be great at their jobs, but their people skills are lacking.

And they end up having all their best employees transfer into another department or quit.

But being the boss isn't easy. Most employees are lazy and don't care enough about their jobs. I'd rather do the job myself then have to babysit employees.

Being promoted to management because you're good at your job is a bit like being moved progessively further from the "real work", and suddenly you wake up and there's no use for your previous talents.
Its a bit disconcerting to suddenly realize you've become one of "them"

Then again some are promoted then shunted off sideways because they have become an embarrassment but they don't want the consequences of sacking them for being incompetent, they just become someone elses problem in the company
