Both my dad and my stepdad work jobs that are salaried, and it seems like they are almost always working overtime. Is this a common thing to do...hire people on salary, then have them work plenty of overtime? I think it is, but I wanted to hear other people's experiences.

It depends on the job, sometimes people work overtime for a bit of extra cash, and sometimes it's practically a requirement. There are some things that can only get done on time through a lot of overtime.

If I am not mistaken there are to different kinds of salary positions one if you work overtime you still get paid overtime and one if you work you don't? I see alot of the later just because then they don't have to pay a person overtime if the work it.
