Default How much overtime?

As a general rule, how much overtime, if any, do you put in every week?

I'm usually pretty good about protecting my 40 hour work week, but if one of my patients goes into a crisis, or we're having one of our semi-annual memorial services, I'll sometimes need to put in a few extra hours. My boss is excellent about trusting me to make this decision for myself and paying me time-and-a-half when I do have to work overtime.

How about the rest of you?

When I was in my 20's I would probably put in about 5 hours overtime everyweek. IF I worked full time now, at the age of 51, I wouldn't work more than my 40 hours.

I used to do ridiculous hours of overtime when I had nothing better to do. One my friends doubled his salary with it! Now the company have caught on and we're hardly ever allowed overtime Not to mention that I'm far too busy outside of work these days.
