War Brewing Between BBC and ISPs

With the launch of the new iPlayer, many internet service providers are wanted the BBC to “cough up” the money for the expenses that they are paying for since the introduction of the iPlayer.

However, this is not a polite request, as Tiscali was the first to put its demand on the table.

This is as a result of the BBC stating it will “blacklist” those providers that alter traffic to the iPlayer. Service providers have stated that the increase in traffic because of the iPlayer is slowing down their servers and increasing costs.
