The online retailer has opened its doors to International users who can now shop in their local currency.
This new venture known as the ‘Amazon Currency Converter’ will make it “significantly easier for our customers, regardless of where they are buying from.”
The currency converter has been launched on the US site. This means that users to not have to make purchases online in US dollars.
The currency converter is the latest money saving effort by the Amazon. Jeff Wilke, senior vice president for North American retail at Amazon has said it is in keeping with their mantra because “since the launch of Amazon in 1995, we have served tens of millions of customers around the world.”
Amazon believe that the converter will allow customers to see the final purchase price before completing a transaction instead of waiting to see the cost via their card statement which adds greater transparency and uniformity to be ‘bol’ process.
Currently the converter is enabled in the Australian dollar, Danish krone, euro, Hong Kong dollar, Japanese yen, New Zealand dollar, Norwegian krone, UK pound, South African rand, Swedish krona and Swiss franc although Amazon have said they are working on adding further currencies.
